Francis Ford Coppola (dwukrotny laureat Złotej Palmy) zaprezentuje swoją najnowszą produkcje, czyli wyczekiwane Megalopolis. Ponoć to trochę filmowy eskperyment, na pewno jednak kolejna wielka antyutopia i wysokobudżetowe science fiction. W drugiej kolejności dużo uwagę przykuwa Yorgos Lanthimos, który po ogromnym sukcesie zeszłorocznych Biednych istot, na Lazurowe Wybrzeże przywiezie Kind of Kindness. Razem z greckim reżyserem na czerwonym dywanie zobaczymy oczywiście Emmę Stone.

O Złotą Palmę powalczą również The Shrouds Davida Cronenberga, Paolo Sorrentino zaprosi nas jego ukochanego do Neapolu w Parthenope a Sean Baker w Anorze najpewniej znowu opowie o Ameryce w skali mikro i o ludziach z szarej strefy. To mój najbardziej oczekiwany film całego festiwalu. Obok wielkich gwiazd światowego kina znalazło się również miejsce dla dobrze znanego polskiej widowni Magnusa von Horna (Sweat, Intruz). Szwed zaprezentuje w Konkursie Głównym The Girl With the Needle. Poza głównym konkursem dużym wydarzeniem będą również przedpremierowe pokazy Furiosy: Saga Mad Max oraz pierwszej części westernowej epopei Kevina Costnera, czyli Horizon, an American Saga.

Naprawdę jest na co czekać! Jak co roku film.org.pl będzie relacjonować dla was festiwal. 77. Festiwal w Cannes będzie trwał od 14 do 25 maja.
